Young People’s Summer Drama Workshops

This is the fourth year that Broad Horizons has provided young people’s summer drama workshops for the Happing Festival. We are pleased to say that many of the young people who have been with us for previous workshops rejoin us again in following years.

We have a lot of fun, play games and make up stories, find props and costumes. Then we improvise a play for our family and friends to watch on Friday afternoon. Last year we had a puppet show with a murder mystery, a ghost hotel and St Trinian’s for our shows and a great time was had by all, so why not join us this year?

The aim is to encourage confidence and team work for the participants. It should also help kick-start their imaginations and creative skills. No previous experience necessary, just a willingness to join in.

Open to young people aged 9 to 16, the workshops each run for five days, commencing at 10.00 on Monday morning, finishing at approximately 15.45 each day until Friday afternoon. An improvised performance for participant’s families to watch will be presented on the final afternoon. The cost is £30 for the week, with £20 for concessions. Just 20 places are available each week.
